With the best weather, attentive spectators and highly motivated riders, the Hessian championships at the Hofgut Kranichstein in Darmstadt started today. It was noticeable on the first day of the tournament: this traditional tournament not only has a lot to offer, but also atmosphere.
From morning to the late afternoon, fighting, jumping, fighting was ridden, fought - for note notes, to make error -free rounds, for the first important points on the way to the title. The claim was particularly noticeable in the jumping course: technically demanding lines, tight twists, but also a lot of rhythm. Some favorites made no nakedness and remained zero. In dressage, calm, precision and elegant pictures dominated - it quickly became clear here who is really a well -coordinated team with his horse.

There was exactly the mixture on the extensive area that a tournament in this class is: family and open, but with the necessary sporty seriousness. Many spectators stayed longer than planned, enjoyed coffee and cake under old trees - and applauded not only well -known names, but also young talents. First talks on the edge reveal: expectations of the next few days are high. And the schedule promises a lot.

Organization, weather, sport - everything fit today. It was a start that makes you want more. In the coming days it will be about the decisions in the youth and senior classes, the S exams are imminent, and dressage is also much more demanding. Anyone who has title ambitions had to deliver today - and some have done it impressively.
