Strong rides, sunshine and a lot of audience to start the equestrian highlight in Darmstadt
The Hessian Championships 2025 at the Kranichstein Hofgut in Darmstadt went into the second day of the competition with ideal conditions on Friday. In the best weather, well -prepared places and a relaxed but concentrated atmosphere, the first tests took place in dressage and jumping - and at all at a consistently high sporting level.
Especially in the jumping course of the M* class, numerous riders were already in strong form. There were several error-free rounds in style and time jumping tests, and favorites pairs also remained confident. The courses were made sophisticated - with technically demanding lines and tight twists -, but also demanded liquid riding and a good eye for speed.
In dressage, too, things went down early. In the higher classes such as Intermediaire II and the S*Scandaren exam, some couples convinced with harmonious, precisely ridden ideas. The judges rewarded this with solid notes - a first finger for what may come over the next few days. The final decisions in the championship classes are pending on the weekend.
The mood on the premises was consistently positive: families, friends and fans of the equestrian sport used the sunny day to watch the extensive areas around the Hofgut, exchange ideas or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Many stayed until late afternoon, the gastrosting ranges were well attended, and interest in the exams was high from the start.
Organizationally, everything went smoothly on the first day of the tournament. The processes were right, the schedules were met and the area presented itself professionally - a real plus for riders and audiences alike.
The decisive rounds in the championship classes will follow on Saturday and Sunday. The program promises further highlights with severe jumping tests, final ratings in dressage and the popular supporting program. Especially the Saturday evening with the traditional riding evening and a spectacular jump under floodlights is considered a crowd puller.
In any case, the first impressions only allow one conclusion: the prelude is more than successful - and makes you want a sporty weekend at the Kranichstein Hofgut.
