Cabaret evening on January 30, 2026 at the Agora
HG Butzko will present at the Agora Cultural Center January 30, 2026. A year full of absurdities, both big and small, will then be behind us – and the "pacemaker of German cabaret" will have noted, commented on, distilled, and sharply processed them all.
In his show "Shut Up! – The Satirical Year in Review," Butzko takes a satirical look at the embarrassments, political gaffes, catastrophes, and curiosities of the past year. Sometimes subtle, sometimes wonderfully direct, always spot-on – and with the unmistakable blend of depth, humor, and humanity that has captivated his audience for many years.
HG Butzko connects the political with the personal, everyday life with the Bundestag, global issues with footnotes – and from this develops a narrative style that the press describes as "buddy cabaret" or "bar talk with the audience." His fan base is constantly growing, because an evening with him is not only entertaining, but also a "celebration of humanity in inhuman times.".
The artist, born in Gelsenkirchen-Schalke in 1965, began his theatre career in 1987 at various German stages. Today he is one of the best-known figures in the German cabaret scene.
