Collect, win and strengthen the city center from September 12th to October 12th
The district town will again participate in the nationwide "Shop Local" campaign organized by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in 2025. The campaign aims to strengthen local retailers and restaurants, highlight the importance of shopping locally, and ensure the attractiveness of city centers. Around 30 municipalities in southern Hesse are taking part.
“The campaign is a very good initiative to highlight the central importance of local retail and gastronomy. In conjunction with our city voucher ‘GG-Scheck’ as a chance to win, the campaign simultaneously strengthens Groß-Gerau as a shopping destination,” emphasize the organizers from the city's economic development office and the business association.
Promotional campaign with vouchers
From September 12th to October 12th, customers will receive stickers when shopping or dining at participating businesses. These stickers are recorded on a collection card. Anyone who collects five stickers can exchange the card at the reception desk in the town hall for a city voucher worth five euros. A total of 200 vouchers are available – while supplies last. One direct prize is possible per person.
Main prize draw and additional promotions
In addition, all submitted collector cards will be entered into a main prize draw with city vouchers worth a total of €500. The draw is scheduled to begin in calendar week 42.
The eye-catching shopping bags are also part of the campaign again. In 2025, they will bear the slogan "Quite simply: buy local." – a clear signal of support for local businesses.
Support from the mayor
Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau emphasizes: “A vibrant city center is an important factor for the quality of life in Groß-Gerau and the surrounding area. ‘Shop Local’ makes visible how valuable it is to shop in one's own town and support local restaurants.”
