Carlo-Mierendorff-School and Friedrich-Ebert-Schule rely on support for more educational justice
Griesheim. In order to be able to offer the proven homework aids at the Carlo-Mierendorff School and the Friedrich-Ebert-Schule in the future, the city, schools and support associations call up together. The measure is aimed specifically at primary school children with increased linguistic or social support requirements that cannot use institutional care offers.
After the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg hired its funding, a temporary solution was initiated at the local level. The financing of the first half of the school year 2025/2026 was secured by a successful funding from the sponsoring associations at the district's social foundation - each with 4,000 euros per school. Further support came from foundations such as the "Schiefertafel Foundation".
The free offer has been an integral part of everyday education at both primary schools for years. In close cooperation between schools, support associations and the youth promotion of the city of Griesheim, low -threshold learning format was developed, which offers children in small groups with permanent caregivers.
City calls for common responsibility
"This commitment to educational justice and participation earns our full support," emphasizes Mayor Geta Krebs-Wetzl, who has taken over the patronage for the project. "I would like to thank everyone involved and call up the Griesheim citizens to take responsibility together so that we can maintain the offer beyond the current school year."
The city of Griesheim acts as a carrier of the measure through its youth promotion and provides the pedagogical staff. The sponsoring associations take over the financial handling, issue donation receipts and ensure the earmarked use of funds - specifically for the financing of the fee.
More information and donations
The support associations of the two primary schools have set up their own information pages, on which the account connections for donations can also be found:
