Planned projects can be tackled
The budget for the year 2025 was approved by the local government supervisory authority in a letter dated December 13, 2024 – making Reinheim the first municipality in the district to receive this approval.
The public display of the budget is currently taking place until January 20, 2025, so that the budget will be valid by the end of January and therefore a provisional budget management is no longer necessary.
“The early approval of this year’s budget naturally makes it considerably easier for us to tackle the projects planned for this year. That the approval could be granted so early is thanks to the constructive work in the responsible committees and the swift and excellent processing of the figures by the staff,” said Mayor Manuel Feick.
And further: “Especially at a time when municipalities are facing increasing financial burdens, it is a very positive sign for us that we already have the approval in hand. I would also like to emphasize once again that the deficits in the operating budget arose solely due to external factors, such as an extremely high district levy, a high school levy, and ever-increasing costs. I am therefore all the more pleased that we did not have to implement any tax increases in property tax B or business tax, which would have placed an additional burden on our citizens.”
