Multicultural cooking studio celebrates Ramadan with an Arab children's group
For over 19 years, the multicultural cooking studio GARI BALDI has been bringing people from Eberstadt and the surrounding area together to build culinary and cultural bridges. On Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., the project invites everyone to cook and eat together again – this time under a special theme: Iftar, the breaking of the fast during Ramadan.
The event will take place at the Caritas Center Eberstadt South , In der Kirchtanne 33, 64297 Darmstadt. The evening's partner is the parents' initiative of the Arabic-speaking children's group, which is supported by the German-Egyptian Friendship Association Darmstadt e.V. The breaking of the fast will take place at sunset, around 6:50 p.m.
Culinary exchange and cultural diversity
GARI BALDI is known for its monthly cooking evenings, each with a specific country theme. The culinary experience is complemented by fascinating information about the society, culture, and politics of the respective region. This creates an intergenerational, inclusive program – open to everyone curious about other cultures.
The focus of the evening is the exchange of information about Ramadan customs and traditions . Instead of the usual small family gathering, Iftar is celebrated in a large community – as a sign of respectful coexistence.
The participation fee is 5 euros , registration is required by March 25, 2025:
by telephone on 06151 3949912 or by email to caritaszentrum-eberstadt@caritas-darmstadt.de .
