As the Darmstadt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Darmstadt) announced in a press release, IHK President Matthias Martiné will step down from his position on June 17, 2025. He made this announcement on Tuesday at the Chamber's general assembly.
Professional obligations as a reason for withdrawal
“My full-time job will continue to demand a great deal from me in the coming months. Reconciling this with the demanding honorary position of Chamber of Industry and Commerce president will require considerable effort,” Martiné explained at the meeting. He will continue to perform his duties in full until the next general assembly.
The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) president has been in office since 2019 and was re-elected following the general assembly election a year ago. Previously, he served as vice president of the IHK executive board from 2014 to 2019. Martiné's primary occupation is as a board member of Volksbank Darmstadt Mainz.
