The successor should be Odenwald entrepreneur Christian Jöst
As the IHK Darmstadt reports in a press release, IHK President Matthias Martiné will settle his mandate on June 17, 2025. He announced this on Tuesday at the General Assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Professional obligations as a reason for withdrawal
“My full -time job will continue to demand me strongly in the coming months. This can only be agreed with great efforts with the demanding volunteering as IHK president, ”said Martiné at the meeting. Until the next general assembly, he will continue to perform his tasks in full.
The IHK President has been in office since 2019 and was confirmed again a year ago after the general assembly election. Previously, he was a member of the IHK Presidium from 2014 to 2019. Martiné is a member of the board of the Volksbank Darmstadt Mainz.
Christian Jöst proposed as the successor
As a potential successor for the office of President, Martiné suggested the entrepreneur Christian Jöst. Jöst is the managing director of Jöst Abrasives GmbH in Wald-Michelbach and currently belongs to the IHK Presidium as one of six vice presidents.
The new president is elected from the middle of the general assembly. Like all other positions in the Presidium, the office is volunteered.
