Darmstadt with a special connection to the ICG
Darmstadt looks back on a long and close relationship with the ICG format:
- The city has already hosted the International School Games three times.
- Former sports director Torsten Rasch was president of the organization for many years.
- To this day, Darmstadt is the only German city with membership in the ICG General Assembly.
The Darmstadt team traditionally competes in athletics and swimming – disciplines in which the city has been strong for years. New this year is their participation in beach volleyball : For the first time, a team from Darmstadt will be competing for points on the sand.
The group already had their first joint experience at this year's Darmstadt Corporate Run , where the young people volunteered in the finish area. It was an opportunity to get to know each other and grow together as a team – before things take an international turn.
