Against right-wing extremism and for a strong democracy
The Center for Combating Right-Wing Extremism and Racism emphasizes in the program's foreword that the rise of right-wing extremist and racist ideologies in society cannot be ignored . Such narratives are spreading increasingly, are often adopted uncritically , and are finding their way into public debates.
However, there are also many people who oppose this trend and advocate for democracy, diversity, and human rights . Therefore, these events are not only about racism and xenophobia , but also about ways to strengthen democracy and promote political education .
Background: International Weeks Against Racism
The International Weeks Against Racism are organized and coordinated annually by the Foundation Against Racism . They offer a nationwide platform for education, networking, and engagement against discrimination .
The district of Groß-Gerau calls on all citizens to actively participate in the events and to send strong message against racism
