On Sunday, April 13, 2025 , the Parktheater Bensheim transform into a stage for Ireland's vibrant musical tradition at 7:00 pm. The Festival of Irish Folk Music, in its new edition, brings a blend of traditional and modern sounds , virtuoso musicians, and captivating Irish dance to the Bergstrasse region.
Musical highlights and fascinating dances
The festival offers a cross-section of the current Irish music scene, featuring up-and-coming newcomers and established stars . The lineup includes:
- 4ManJob – a top-class band from Glasgow with musicians from Scotland, England and Wales , combining tradition with modern influences.
- Cuas – the young quartet from Ireland brings the spirited music of West Kerry to the stage.
- Fil Campbell & Tom McFarland – the Northern Irish singer-songwriter duo enchants with soulful songs and Irish humor.
- Lenka Fairy & Irish Dance – impressive dance that translates the joy of life in Ireland into movement.
The musicians present rousing jigs, reels, and ballads that testify to the deep roots of Irish folk music. The evening culminates in the traditional finale , when all the artists join together for a large, exuberant jam session – a moment that, as experience has shown, brings the audience to their feet.
