New construction phase between Gruberstraße and Hammelstrift starts at the beginning of December
As the city of Darmstadt reports, work on the expansion of Jägertorstraße is progressing. Despite weather-related delays in October and November, the sidewalk on the Brentanosee side was recently reopened to pedestrian traffic.
New construction phase begins at the beginning of December
The next phase covers the area from the corner of Gruberstraße to the corner of Hammelstrift. Construction is scheduled to begin in early December and be completed by December 19, 2025. A winter break will then follow. Depending on the weather, work will resume in the first quarter of 2026.
The complete closure remains in effect.
The existing full closure of Jägertorstraße remains in effect, as does the established detour for motor vehicle and bicycle traffic. The city requests all road users to exercise increased caution and adjust their driving style in the construction zone.
Head of Transport Paul Georg Wandrey emphasizes that progress is noticeable despite all the restrictions: The reopened footpath already represents an improvement for pedestrian traffic during the ongoing work.
