Reading and discussion with the former Federal President – cultural association offers a top-class annual program
Pfungstadt – A special guest is expected in Pfungstadt in September: Former German President Joachim Gauck at the sports and cultural hall on Saturday, September 13 to read "Erschütterungen" (Shocks) Anna Vogel , the evening promises not only an impressive reading but also a profound discussion about the challenges of our time.
The evening is organized by the Darmstadt-Dieburg Cultural Association (KKDD) , which has been bringing top-quality culture to the region for almost 50 years. “Upheavals” with Joachim Gauck on September 13th
The title of the evening is also the title of the book: "Upheavals" . In this publication, Joachim Gauck key social and political upheavals and raises the question of how we can maintain our composure in times of crisis, uncertainty, and change.
The former Federal President was already known during his time in office for his clear words and his profound analyses of social developments – all the more important is this event, which is likely to attract interest far beyond Pfungstadt.

The Darmstadt-Dieburg Cultural Association – a fixture since 1978
The Darmstadt-Dieburg Cultural Association was founded in 1978 with the aim of enriching cultural life in the district and setting new trends. Today, the focus of its approximately dozen annual events is in Pfungstadt , but its audience draws participants from far beyond.
With its focus on music, literature, art, and architecture, the program is aimed at a culturally interested audience that appreciates quality and diversity. The events are organized in close cooperation with the town of Pfungstadt, which, like the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, is among the sponsors. The association is run entirely by volunteers – with great personal commitment and a clear cultural mission.
