Reading and discussion with the former Federal President – Cultural Circle offers top-class annual program
Pfungstadt – A special guest is expected in Pfungstadt this September: Former German President Joachim Gauck will be coming to the Sports and Cultural Hall on Saturday, September 13 , to read from his book "Erschütterungen" (Shocks) . Moderated by Anna Vogel, the evening promises not only an impressive reading but also an in-depth discussion about the challenges of our time.
The evening is organized by the Darmstadt-Dieburg Cultural Association (KKDD) , which has been bringing top-quality culture to the region for almost 50 years. “Shocks” with Joachim Gauck on 13 September
The title of the evening is also the title of the book: "Erschütterungen" (Shocks) . In this publication, Joachim Gauck key social and political upheavals and raises the question of how we can maintain our composure in times of crisis, uncertainty, and change.
The former Federal President was already known during his term in office for his clear words and his profound analyses of social developments – this event is all the more important and is likely to arouse interest far beyond Pfungstadt.

The Darmstadt-Dieburg Cultural Circle – a fixture since 1978
The Darmstadt-Dieburg Cultural Circle was founded in 1978 with the goal of enriching the cultural life of the district and setting new standards. Today, the focus of the approximately dozen events held annually is in Pfungstadt , but the audience reach extends far beyond.
With its pillars of music, literature, art, and architecture, the program is aimed at a culturally interested audience who appreciates quality and diversity. The events are organized in close cooperation with the city of Pfungstadt, which, along with the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, is a sponsor. The association is run on a voluntary basis – with great personal commitment and a clear cultural mission.
