Strong performances in Erfurt – junior teams also successful
The Johanniter from Darmstadt-Dieburg achieved an outstanding second place at the national first aid and emergency rescue competition in Erfurt. In Category A (paramedics), the team impressed with its team spirit and professional expertise. The youth teams also achieved strong results: The school paramedics took seventh place, while the six- to eleven-year-old group achieved fourth place nationwide.
Competition as part of the “Day of the Johanniter”
From September 26 to 28, around 3,000 Johanniter members from across Germany gathered in Erfurt. The highlight of the weekend was the national competition, in which 54 teams from all regional associations competed in realistic emergency scenarios. They practiced interventions in traffic accidents, burn injuries, cardiovascular diseases, and wound care – all portrayed by professional casualty actors. Around 130 referees evaluated the performances.

The Darmstadt-Dieburg regional association was also represented on site with injured actors, referees and a section leader.
Joy about the result
Holger Lehr, regional director of the Johanniter in Darmstadt-Dieburg, expressed his satisfaction:
"We are delighted that one of our teams made it into the top three in Germany. This result motivates us to participate again in two years and to become even better."
Johanniter Day with a varied program
In addition to the competition, the “Day of the Johanniter” offered an extensive supporting program: a celebratory event honoring deserving members with Thuringia’s Prime Minister Mario Voigt as well as numerous training courses.
