Reading and discussion on June 4th with musical accompaniment
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., author Julia Grinberg her new book , "Journal of a Non-Belonging," at the Literaturhaus Darmstadt (Kasinostraße 3). The reading will be followed by a discussion with Kurt Drawert , moderated by Michael Hüttenberger , and accompanied by cello music performed by Ulrich Pietsch . Admission is free.
Julia Grinberg, who came to Germany from what is now Ukraine in 2000 and has been active Darmstadt Text Workshop lyrical precision with laconic prose . Her new book addresses the feeling of not belonging, the search for stability, the simultaneity of everyday life and artistic reflection – always with a keen eye for the bizarre and the essential in the moment.

With "Journal of a Non-Belonging," Grinberg makes an impressive literary contribution to the question of how the foreign appears within the familiar—or vice versa. The event offers an opportunity to experience the author personally in conversation and readings.
