On Saturday, November 29, 2025 , the Darmstadt secondhand store KAGEL (Pallaswiesenstraße 122) to its annual Christmas market 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can enjoy coffee and cake , make candles , and discover sustainable gift ideas for the upcoming Christmas season while browsing the secondhand selection .
“The Christmas season also demonstrates how important conscious consumption is. At KAGEL, we want to show that sustainability and a festive atmosphere can go hand in hand,” says City Treasurer André Schellenberg .
KAGEL sees itself as a place for sustainable consumption and a lived circular economy. It accepts donations of goods and clothing suitable for resale and, if needed, picks them up in Darmstadt using its recycling service Household clearances, partial cleanouts, and assistance with carrying and transporting items also be conveniently booked online.
