New daycare center in the southwest residential area is expected to start in August 2025
The company of the new daycare center Sophie-Scholl-Straße, originally planned for the end of 2024. The reason is a water damage that was created at the end of November 2024 due to a defect in the heating system. The facility in the southwest residential area is expected to go into operation in mid -August 2025.
Building on schedule - until water damage
The modern, two-story daycare center on an area of 2,572 square meters offers space for 123 children in seven groups -including four crib groups for 48 children on the ground floor and three Ü3 groups for 75 children on the upper floor. Despite the weather -related delays and delivery bottlenecks, the construction was largely on schedule by autumn 2024.
Due to the general entrepreneur's quick reaction after water damage, larger consequential damage could be avoided. The damage settlement lies contractually with the general entrepreneur - the city of Griesheim does not bear any cost risk .
Refurbishment is running - daycare center is to be completed in summer
The necessary evidence and the creation of reports initially led to delays, but since mid -February 2025, the insurance has been released for renovation. This has already started and should be completed mid -June 2025 This is followed by the furniture and furnishings, so that the opening for August 2025 is planned.
Modern and sustainable equipment
The new daycare center fulfills current technical and energetic standards . The barrier -free timber construction in modular construction operated energetically efficiently by a photovoltaic system on the green roof , a heat pump and a ventilation system with heat recovery passive house standard .
