The "Kräppelwanderung" (a hike involving doughnuts) was well attended with around 40 participants
Odenwald Club Groß-Gerau start, complete with hiking, costumes, and sweet treats . Around 40 participants met at the wooden pig sculptures in Nauheim for the traditional "Kräppel" hike, a convivial walk through the forest.
After a cheerful welcome from organizers Wolfgang Schmall and Ina Kohrs, a small "starting drink" got the colorfully costumed group in the mood for their hike. From there, they first crossed the motorway bridge to the OWK clubhouse. While part of the group stayed there, the rest of the merry band continued on to the Mönchsbruch hut.
Humorous contributions along the way and a cozy stopover
Along the way, short presentations by Heinz Pitzer and Rosel Wolk provided entertainment. Chairman and hiking guide Wolfgang Schmall then led the group back to the OWK clubhouse, where the hardworking volunteers were already waiting. The hike concluded with a convivial gathering over doughnuts, coffee, and mulled wine.
A lighthearted presentation was a must: Ralf Uhlemann brought many laughs to the group with his humorous accounts of his experiences in the "Bund".
The participants ultimately agreed: The approximately six-kilometer-long "Kräppelwanderung" (a traditional German carnival hike) was a successful event that beautifully combined exercise, carnival, and social gatherings.
