Commemorative event in the New Synagogue and rally “Never again is now” on Luisenplatz
Darmstadt. On Sunday, November 9, 2025 , the City of Darmstadt , the Jewish Community of Darmstadt, and the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation Darmstadt e.V. the Kristallnacht pogrom of November 9/10, 1938. The main commemoration will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the New Synagogue , Wilhelm-Glässing-Straße 26.
In remembrance of the destruction of Jewish houses of worship and the persecution and murder of Jews throughout Germany, the organizers invite all citizens and media representatives to a joint commemoration to wear head covering in the synagogue Bag checks conducted.

- Welcome and address: Daniel Neumann , Chairman of the Jewish Community of Darmstadt
- Speech by Mayor Hanno Benz
- Speech by: Friedhelm Pieper , Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation
- Kaddish (Prayer for the Dead) recited by the cantor of the Jewish community
- Musical contribution
On Sunday evening, Mayor Hanno Benz also participate in the rally "Never Again is Now" by the German-Israeli Society of Darmstadt . The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in Luisenplatz and sends a clear message against antisemitism and in support of remembrance.
Wreaths will be laid on Saturday, November 8th , at the memorial site Bleichstraße/corner Grafenstraße and at the menorah at the memorial site Liberal Synagogue on the hospital grounds .
