New leisure area combines nature, play and encounter in the heart of the neighborhood
With the completion of the eastern part of the landscape staircase in the Ludwigshöhviertel, Darmstadt has realized a central element of its new neighborhood development. On Monday (May 26th), green space for Michael Kolmer and Armin Niedenthal , board member of Bauverein AG, presented the new green area, which will in future take a key role for the cooperation in the district.
"The landscape staircase is the heart of the new district," says Kolmer. "With their offers that make young and old to sport, climbing and playing, she brings people together in the Ludwigshöhviertel and also works beyond." It connects Karl Plagge Platz with the forest adjacent to the east and the Bessunger gravel pit in the west. The construction of the western landscape staircase is already beginning.
Leisure, game and nature conservation united
The design cleverly uses the topographical differences in height of up to 20 meters :
- At a bastion with a viewpoint there is a Calisthenics facility
- A climbing wall with a slide exit and a cable car complement the sporting offers
- For small children there are barrier -free play options with a chuck pipe, funnel phones and huts
- A walk -in wooden footbridge enables the protected experience of a habitat for fence lizards , accompanied by information boards
A total of 72 new trees planted and generous play and recreation areas were created.
Contribution to the quality of life in the growing district
Around 1,000 people will live in the Ludwigshöhviertel in the future. With the first section of the landscape staircase, an attractive local recreation offer is already available. "We are pleased that our tenants can already benefit from this high -quality leisure area," emphasizes Armin Niedenthal from Bauverein AG.
The implementation was carried out by BVD New Living GmbH & Co. KG , a subsidiary of Bauverein AG, based on urban development with the science city of Darmstadt. The planning took place in close coordination with the green space office .
