The science city of Darmstadt invites families to a lantern parade on November 12th / Mayor Akdeniz emphasizes the importance of exchange among parents
Darmstadt. On Tuesday, November 12, 2025 , the Child Day Care Advisory Service of the City of Darmstadt's Childcare Department invites you to the second lantern parade through the Herrngarten park . All families whose children are cared for by a childminder are invited. The meeting point is at 5 p.m. in front of the Hessian State Museum .
From there, the colorful lantern parade together through the Herrngarten park to the adventure playground , where a warming fire and pretzels await the participants. The evening offers an opportunity to get to know one another , exchange ideas , and celebrate together .
“The aim of the lantern parade is to connect parents and introduce the Darmstadt childcare team,” explains Mayor Barbara Akdeniz . “Due to the positive response last year, further events for parents are already being planned. We are very grateful for our dedicated childcare providers who offer families in Darmstadt a wide range of individual and loving care for their youngest children.”
