The Groß-Gerau district is also using unconventional methods to find trainees.
Attracting skilled workers and trainees isn't always easy. The Groß-Gerau district has therefore taken numerous steps to recruit the necessary young talent for the time when many members of the "baby boomer generation" retire. The district administration has appointed brand ambassadors, the district participates in job fairs, and has launched the career portal "Gemeinsam Großer" (Together Great).
Since December 2024, recruitment efforts have also included advertising on the sides of a bus that travels on several public transport routes throughout the district. The idea was implemented by SD VerkehrsMedien Hessen GmbH. The bus, which was presented to District Administrator Thomas Will on January 15th, is initially scheduled to operate for the next three years, generating significant publicity. "Our aim is to raise awareness of the training, job, and study opportunities available within our district administration," says training manager Jan Thomas, who is also featured on the advertising wraps.
