Associations are working together to support disadvantaged people
The LIGA of Independent Welfare Organizations in Darmstadt and Darmstadt-Dieburg has appointed new spokespeople at the beginning of the year, as is customary. Christian Dirb , Managing Director of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) Darmstadt, and Manuel Knauber , Deputy Managing Director of the AWO, will represent the LIGA externally.
The LIGA of Independent Welfare Organizations in Darmstadt and the Darmstadt-Dieburg district unites six major independent welfare providers. These include the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO), Caritas, Diakonie, the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband (Parity Welfare Association), the German Red Cross, and the State Association of Jewish Communities. Together, they are committed to the social welfare of disadvantaged people in the city and district.
Support for people in difficult life situations
Christian Dirb emphasizes the social responsibility towards disadvantaged people. The goal of their collaborative work is to make their living conditions visible and to develop concrete support services. The welfare organizations are addressing both individual problems and structural challenges.
Manuel Knauber also emphasizes the importance of a nuanced approach to social issues. In addition to providing concrete assistance, it is crucial to raise awareness of the situation of disadvantaged people in society and to bring their concerns into the public discourse.
Continuation of joint work
With its new spokespeople, the LIGA of independent welfare organizations in Darmstadt and the Darmstadt-Dieburg district continues its work for social justice, participation, and solidarity. Close cooperation among the member organizations remains a key foundation for responding to current social challenges.
