BUND and the adult education center provide information about species conservation in urban areas
The German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND) and the Darmstadt Adult Education Center you to a lecture on bat conservation on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. 6:30 p.m. at the BUND Center for Urban Nature .
How gardens and balconies can support bats
Bats are also native to cities and can often be observed hunting insects at night. This presentation will show how private gardens and balconies can be designed to encourage insects and thus provide an important food source for bats. Suitable plants will be presented, as well as typical hazards to which these protected animals are exposed in urban areas.
Participation is possible both on-site and online
The event is free of charge and will take place at the BUND Center for Urban Nature at Klappacher Straße 27 (entrance via the Orangerie, first gate on the left). It is also possible to follow the lecture online via video conference.
