Darmstadt Scientific Association invites you to Prof. Albrecht Beutelspacher on 15 October
Darmstadt – The Darmstadt Natural Science Association (NWV) invites you to a public lecture at the Hessian State Museum on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The guest will be the renowned mathematician Prof. Albrecht Beutelspacher , founder and director of the Mathematikum in Giessen. Starting at 6:00 p.m., he will explore the fascination of infinity—a topic that plays a significant role in both everyday life and mathematics.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free.
Infinity as a thought exercise
The lecture explores the question of whether infinity "exists" and what consequences it would have if humans could not conceive it. Using astonishing experiments, Beutelspacher demonstrates how the perspective of infinity leads to new insights and far exceeds our experience.
