The Lower Nature Conservation Authority will provide information on June 2nd about flying insects and how to handle them correctly
What should you do if there's a wasp nest on your house or hornets move into your garden? To foster a better understanding of these often misunderstood animals and to alleviate any fears, the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the Groß-Gerau district invites you to a free lecture Monday, June 2, 2025 , from 6 p.m. to approximately 8 p.m. in the Georg Büchner Hall of the District Office.
Speaker Brigitte Martin will clearly explain how wasps, hornets, and other flying insects live, why they are so important to the ecosystem, and how best to behave when encountering them – without endangering oneself or the animals. Special attention will also be given to dealing with the Asian hornet.
The event is aimed at all citizens who would like to learn more about living alongside wasps and hornets. Registration is possible until Friday, May 30th , online via the website of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority ( www.kreisgg.de/umwelt/naturschutz ) or by phone at 06152 989-85755 (Bianca Lukas) .
