"Cyclist" on the Lichtwiese campus
On Monday, January 27, 2025, the newly developed "cyclist" for cargo bikes will be inaugurated from 3 to 4 p.m. on the Lichtwiese campus of the TU Darmstadt. TU Chancellor Dr. Martin Lommel, HEAG director Dr. Markus Hoschek and other managers will present the digital booking and access system and release the four electrically supported cargo bikes for free public use.
A cooperation with Heinerbike, the AStA of the TU and the Green Mobility Solutions , enables students, employees and private individuals to borrow a cargo bike via Book-N-Park . The E-Muli "Delta-Diwan", which can also be booked and borrowed via the Darmstadt in the heart of the heart , is the first Heinerbike that can be borrowed and returned independently by a digitally controlled closing system.
The idea for the new distribution range came about in the Federal Research Project Delta (Darmstadt energy laboratory for technologies in the application) and was implemented by an interdisciplinary project team in the sub-project "Urban Sharing Models". The majority of the required electricity for the electrical support of the cargo bikes is provided by a PV system on the prototypically converted rental container and the use is scientifically accompanied and the transferability is examined for further quarters.
