Suzanne Bohn presents revolutionary in the art gallery
To mark International Women's Day, a lecture on Louise Michel will be offered on Saturday, March 7th, at 7 pm in the art gallery at the Büchnerhaus in Riedstadt. The lecturer, Suzanne Bohn, will focus on the life and work of the French revolutionary.
The event is a collaboration between the women's and equal opportunities officer and the cultural office of the Büchner city of Riedstadt.
Revolutionary and humanist
Louise Michel, known as the "Red Virgin," was a central figure in the Paris Commune. She was considered a radical revolutionary who advocated for fundamental social transformation. At the same time, she saw herself as a humanist who believed in the emergence of a just and equitable society.
Her commitment to "art for all, education for all, bread for all" made her a defining figure in French history.
Speech for International Women's Day
Suzanne Bohn, the daughter of a French mother and a German father, has been a regular guest in Riedstadt for International Women's Day for many years. In her lectures, she introduces well-known and lesser-known French women and places their work in its historical context.
Tickets priced at €10 are available via www.reservix.de . Tickets are also available at the reception desk of Riedstadt Town Hall and at the Faktotum bookstore, among other locations.
