Full closure due to construction work near the historic town hall
The city of Groß-Gerau has announced that Mainzer Straße will be completely closed to traffic on Thursday, April 2, 2026. This is due to construction work for the installation of empty conduits.
Detour via several streets
The construction site is located near the historic town hall. A partial closure is not possible for technical reasons; therefore, the work will be carried out under a full road closure.
The closure begins at the intersection of Nauheimer Weg and Walther-Rathenau-Straße. A detour will be in place via Mainzer Straße, Kirchgartenstraße, Fabrikstraße, and Frankfurter Straße. This route will also be used by public transport.
The "City Center" bus stop will be closed on this day.
Regulations for residents
Residents can still access their properties. The one-way street regulation behind Stollgasse will be lifted.
Traffic from Mainzer Straße will be diverted via Stollgasse and Am Burggraben. Signage indicates dead ends and a lack of turning options.
