Members elect successor to Rüdiger Fritsch – club reports profit
Darmstadt. SV Darmstadt 98 has a new president: Markus Pfitzner by the 378 members present at the ordinary general meeting on October 21. The 56-year-old, a Darmstadt native, has been a member of the board since 2010 and succeeds Rüdiger Fritsch , who did not run for re-election after 13 years in office.
Fritsch, along with Wolfgang Arnold , long-serving board member of the sports departments and the fan and support department, was given a rousing send-off. Both received honorary membership of the club for their service. Arnold was also honorary chairman of the board of the sports departments and the fan and support department.
New board confirmed
In addition to Pfitzner, Anne Baumann (Finance) and Volker Harr (Vice President) were re-elected. Roy Reinelt-Peter succeeds Wolfgang Arnold as head of the sports departments, while Arnd Zinnhardt completes the executive board as another Vice President. All candidates were unanimously .
"I thank all members for their great trust," Pfitzner declared after his election. "We want to secure the future viability of the club, preserve what we have achieved, and develop it further. My thanks go to Rüdiger and Wolfgang for their many years of trustworthy cooperation."
Club with positive annual results
SV 98 can also look back on a successful financial year: In the fiscal year from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, the club achieved a profit of €3.58 million after taxes . Club assets increased to €26.11 million , with total revenues of €49.43 million .
At the suggestion of the sports departments, the contribution for active athletes was also adjusted .
