With the storming of the media ship, the Weiterstadt carnival clubs will kick off the peak of the carnival season on Saturday, January 17 , 2026. The festivities traditionally begin at 11:11 a.m. After the symbolic dethroning of Mayor Niklas Gehnich , the revelers' takeover will be duly celebrated.
Storming of the city library
The media ship will be boarded at the entrance of the city library , Darmstädter Straße 40 , also at 11:11 a.m. If the boarding is successful , food, drinks, music, and a lively atmosphere will be provided. The event marks the official start of the carnival season in Weiterstadt.
