Green city furniture invite you to linger - environmental education meets climate adaptation
With the mobile green room (MGZ), the science city of Darmstadt brings more green, shadow and quality of stay to urban places. The planted city furniture is set up at changing locations in the urban area and invites citizens to linger, discover and relax .
Climate adjustment made visible
The MGZ is part of the urban measures for climate adaptation and sustainable urban development. With vertical plant walls , integrated seating and shade -giving planting, it improves the microclimate and contributes to reducing heat load in the urban area.
Environmental director Michael Kolmer emphasizes the added value:
"The mobile green room is a visible sign of the importance of city green - especially in times of climate change. It combines environmental education, climate adaptation and quality of stay in an innovative way."
