Mobility head Wandrey emphasizes shoulder for the shoulder of the company and "mobility peace"
On Thursday, June 26, 2025 , a political bike tour with representatives from the city and district of Darmstadt-Dieburg took place. Darmstadt's mobility director Paul Georg Wandrey , the first district deputy Lutz Köhler as well as experts from the administration, university and transport associations together explored central stations of home mobility between the city of Darmstadt and its surrounding area.
Under professional accompaniment by Prof. Jürgen Follmann (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences), the tour led over existing and planned bike paths - with a special focus on interfaces to public transport , quality standards and regional connections .
Focus on continuous, safe and networked cycling infrastructure
"The district municipalities close to the city, such as Weiterstadt, Griesheim or Roßdorf, offer enormous potential for cycle connections suitable for everyday use," said City Councilor Wandrey . It is not only about continuous routes, but also about high -quality infrastructure, safe transitions and an intelligent link to bus and train.
Among other things, the tour touched:

Mobility peace as a common goal
The common bike tour was not only a technical exchange, but also a political signal for cooperation : "Mobility peace stands for a holistic approach in which responsibilities take a back seat and the common goal of a future -proof mobility is in focus," said Wandrey. Challenges such as space competition , accessibility and implementation speed could only be mastered in the end of the should.
Perspectives for the region
