Weiterstadt's municipal works department clears up illegal dumping again – 30 hours of operation
The Weiterstadt municipal works department removed approximately 1.75 tons of trash and waste from the Storckebrünnchen area on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The extensive cleanup operation took a total of 30 hours and required the simultaneous deployment of up to six employees.
The waste was carefully sorted and separated : In addition to bulky waste ten car tires , paint buckets , insulation material , fiber cement panels , and construction debris were found . Containers were also provided, loaded, and the waste subsequently transported to various recycling facilities.
This operation underscores the city's ongoing efforts to combat illegal waste disposal within its boundaries. The city emphasizes that illegal dumping is not a trivial matter – in addition to the high disposal costs, it poses a threat to the environment and recreational areas .
