Multimedia presentation about an extraordinary adventure in Crumstadt
In a multimedia presentation on Friday, January 30, 2026 , two long-distance cyclists from Riedstadt will talk about their participation in two of Europe's toughest ultra-cycling races. The presentation starts at 7 p.m. in the Old Town Hall of Crumstadt (Poppenheimer Straße 1).
Stevie and Tom Thissen take the audience on a journey filled with sleepless nights, endless climbs, and extreme physical and mental challenges. Through words, pictures, and film, they recount moments at and beyond their personal limits. They also offer insights into the months of preparation for a project that demanded endurance, passion, and perseverance.
Stevie started in the legendary Transcontinental Race, covering almost 5,000 kilometers from Spain to Romania – alone, without support, and with only the bare essentials. At the same time, Tom set off from Berlin to the North Cape to reach the northernmost point of Europe on two wheels.
Admission to the lecture is free. However, a donation to World Bicycle Relief requested. This international aid organization provides people in rural areas of developing countries with greater mobility, better educational opportunities, and improved access to medical care through bicycles.
