Museums and special exhibitions focusing on democracy
The FrankfurtRheinMain Cultural Region has published its new magazine "Museums and Special Exhibitions" for 2026. The over 80-page publication is themed "Shaping Democracy!" and features a newly designed, clear layout with striking image-text contrasts. Several museums from the Groß-Gerau district are also included.
The alphabetical overview by towns and municipalities includes museums of local history from Bischofsheim and Mörfelden-Walldorf . Riedstadt is represented by the Büchner House in Goddelau, the birthplace of the poet Georg Büchner . In Rüsselsheim am Main, the City and Industry Museum in the fortress, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, is featured. Stockstadt am Rhein is represented by the Kühkopf Treasure Island Environmental Education Center in the Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue nature reserve.
As the KulturRegion announces, several museums – including institutions in Bischofsheim, Mörfelden-Walldorf and Riedstadt – will be represented in the museum magazine for the first time in 2026.
The annual publication provides an overview of the most important exhibitions in the Rhine-Main region. It features local history museums and natural history collections as well as internationally renowned art venues. The profiles are supplemented with practical information on admission prices, accessibility, and opening hours.
The magazine is available at the Groß-Gerau district administration office (Wilhelm-Seipp-Straße 4) and at the town halls of the district's municipalities.
