Creative songwriting & improvisation – join in without prior knowledge!
The Institute for New Music and Music Education (INMM) music workshops at the Darmstadt Academy of Music during the Easter holidays . Whether children, teenagers, or adults – everyone is welcome to participate, no prior musical knowledge is required. The registration deadline is March 20, 2025.
Back to the playground – improvisation for adults
Stefan Heckel 's workshop invites adults to playfully discover music . Using sound building blocks and deep listening concepts from Pauline Oliveros , participants improvise with voice and body, creating unique soundscapes .
📅 Dates: April 9th, 10th and 11th, 2025, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM each day.
Cost: €50 for all three dates, €20 per day.
Instruments can be brought along, but are not required.
Creative songwriting for soloists and choirs (ages 8 and up)
Under the guidance of Hanna Fink , children and teenagers experience how songs are created. Writing lyrics, composing music, singing, and playing instruments – anything goes! Those who play an instrument are welcome to bring it, but participation is also possible without prior experience.
📅 Dates: April 9th to 11th, 2025, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm each day.
Cost: €40 (free for students of the Academy of Music).
Final presentation: April 11th, 2:00 pm, as part of the “Parcours of Possibilities” of the INMM Spring Conference.
Musical participation for all
The workshops are part of the INMM spring conference "Belonging ," which equitable participation in music . The focus is on creative, open methods that allow everyone to gain musical experience.
