The city of Darmstadt presents plans for local supply and urban development
The City of Darmstadt invites the public to an information event on the "New Wixhausen Center" on Tuesday, September 9th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Bürgermeister-Pohl-Haus. The event is part of the early public participation process for the development plan procedure Wx 15 – Brucknerstraße / Verdistraße.
Mayor Hanno Benz and Head of Planning Michael Kolmer, together with the architecture firm ruby³ and the planning office Planquadrat, will provide information about the planned construction project. The plans include modern residential and commercial spaces as well as a large supermarket intended to strengthen local services in the district.
“The planned market will significantly improve local amenities in Wixhausen after a long wait. Its integrated location in the heart of the village is a definite asset,” said Mayor Benz. Councillor Kolmer added: “The ‘New Wixhausen Center’ will further develop the village's appearance and create a sustainable, vibrant center for Wixhausen.”
The plans for the new neighborhood in the area between Brucknerstraße and Verdistraße will be presented at the information event. In addition to the timeline, the city will also explain where opportunities for public participation exist. An open question and answer session will follow.
Parallel to the event, the formal early public participation process for the development plan begins. Citizens can submit comments for one month. The documents will be available online and at the city planning office (Mina-Rees-Straße 12, 2nd floor) during normal business hours.
