Tree care and preparation for construction work starting October 7 in Darmstadt
Tuesday, October 7 the real estate management of the Science City of Darmstadt (IDA) will carry further preparatory work for the planned new construction of a two-stream primary school at the Albert-Schweitzer-Anlage.
In the inner-city green space on the west side of the development, benches and trash cans will first be removed . Subsequently, the shrubs beneath the trees in the west and southwest of the property will be trimmed back. These measures are necessary to make room for the planned surveys in the area of the tree roots . The survey results will provide an important basis for subsequent construction.
The work is expected to take two to three days . During this time, the western pedestrian and cycle path along Albert-Schweitzer-Anlage will be closed . The public is asked to use parallel path along Fritz-Bauer-Straße
Construction of the new elementary school is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026 and will strengthen the educational infrastructure in the west of the city center in the long term.
