County-wide renovation campaign continues in municipalities
The renovation information sessions organized by the Groß-Gerau district are aimed at all homeowners, prospective property buyers, and anyone interested in energy-efficient renovations. Participants will receive concise information at these sessions and can then ask questions of the experts and join the discussion. The district is planning a total of six sessions for spring 2025.
The program is funded by the state of Hesse. Cooperation partners include the energy consultants from Effizienz:Klasse GmbH in Darmstadt and the local municipalities. "Last year, more than 100 people in the district participated in the renovation roundtables. Working through specific topics in a small group was a good opportunity for participants to ask their questions to the experts," says Adil Oyan, First Deputy District Administrator and Head of Environmental Affairs.
The first informal meeting of 2025 will focus on the topic of "Building Envelope – Roof and Facade." It will take place on February 26th at 6 p.m. in the Nauheim Town Hall. A well-insulated facade and a watertight roof reduce heat loss in winter and prevent overheating in summer. This saves on heating costs and protects the environment. Participants will learn the best ways to achieve this at this meeting.
The subsequent meetings will also be held on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. On March 5th, the topic will be heating; on March 12th, the focus will be on the "Energy Consultation Process"; and on March 19th, the topic of "Building Envelopes" will be discussed again. Heating will be addressed again on March 26th, and the discussion on the "Energy Consultation Process" will be offered once more on April 2nd. Those interested can find the venue on the website www.klima.kreisgg.de .

At the informal meetings, in addition to an engaging presentation, there is always ample time to ask specific questions about planned projects: "So, if you are currently considering renovations to your building, you can ask your questions to the energy consultants in a small group setting," says Adil Oyan. Registration is required via www.klima.kreisgg.de or directly at klima@kreisgg.de . Separate registration is required for each meeting. The number of participants is limited.
