On the road with the mayoral candidates
The Nauheim Country Women's Association started the new year with its traditional New Year's hike, in which 63 participants took part, including the mayoral candidates of the municipality of Nauheim: Prof. Dr. Steffen Blaschke, Max Hochstädter and Alexander Nold.
Although Marc Friedrich couldn't be there in person, he sent warm New Year's greetings from his vacation. The meeting point for the New Year's hike was the Old Town Hall, where members and guests were welcomed by the board members with a mug of hot mulled wine. Anne Dammel opened the event with optimistic and heartfelt words. The mayoral candidates then addressed the assembled rural women with brief greetings, expressing their appreciation for their dedication and wishing them a healthy new year.
Afterwards, the deputy chairwoman, Gabi Bender, provided information about the route. The one-and-a-half-hour hike led from the old town hall through the historic town center, along the Waldwiesengraben stream, and through fields, woods, and meadows. A highlight was the sight of the flooded meadows, where storks, ducks, and Egyptian geese were frolicking.
The hike's destination was Hochwimmer's Stübchen, where the participants received a warm welcome and looked forward to coffee, delicious cake, and pleasant conversation. During the convivial gathering, the rural women were delighted to receive a donation and words of appreciation from proprietor Hochwimmer, who emphasized the importance and social commitment of the association. Everyone agreed that an event like the hike was not only a wonderful start to the new year but also strengthened the sense of community and the dedication of its members.
The kickoff to the club's 2025 activities was a resounding success, and everyone is already looking forward to the next planned activity: a day trip on January 22nd. A few places are still available. Anyone interested should contact Anne Dammel.
