Restrictions due to renewal of mobile phone coverage until 5 September
Darmstadt. Work to upgrade mobile phone coverage will be carried out in the Darmstadt City Tunnel from Monday, August 18, to Friday, September 5, 2025. convert to the 5G mobile communications standard and will take place exclusively at night between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
During construction, the tunnel will have some roadway narrowing . However, the entrances and exits to the parking garages in the City Tunnel area will remain open without restrictions .
The work is being carried out as part of the ongoing technical modernization of the city's infrastructure. A complete closure is not planned.
