Charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is expanded-effects on commuters from the Ried
As the press office of the city of Griesheim reports, the Nordring will be completely blocked for one and a half weeks from Monday, March 3. The reason for the blocking is civil engineering work on the corner of Nordring/Feldstraße, in which a new charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is built. The work is expected to last until March 28, 2025.
Since the Nordring is an important traffic axis between Griesheim and Darmstadt, the closure not only affects inner -city traffic, but also numerous commuters from the Ried, especially from Riedstadt and the surrounding communities that are traveling every day.
Why a full closure?
A single -lane traffic routing with traffic lights was checked, but would have had a significantly longer construction period and considerable traffic disruptions . Instead, the road is now completely blocked for one and a half weeks in order to be able to complete the work quickly.
Demanding and traffic measures
During the full closure, the traffic is guided via the following detour route:
➡ Wiesenstraße - Rübgrund - Schöneweibergasse
The accessibility of retail stores in Feldstrasse remains guaranteed from the west. temporary one -sided stopping ban is set up on the diversion route in order to create enough space for the encounter traffic.
Commuters from the Ried should adjust to longer travel times and consider alternative routes.
