Traditional tour with 43 kilometers and summery impressions
The full-day bike tour to the barbecue of the affiliated local group in Goddelau has long been a firmly established tradition of the Odenwald Club (OWK) Groß-Gerau. The cyclists set off early in the morning from meeting points in Nauheim, Groß-Gerau, and Büttelborn.
Summer tour with nature experiences
Nineteen participants set off on a sunny hike. The route led through the pheasantry, Berkach, Dornheim, and Wolfskehlen to Goddelau. Along the way, large groups of storks could be observed in the fields, while summer flowers bloomed in full bloom along the roadside. The "Moorlöcher," the marshy meadows near Büttelborn, were also part of the route.
Socializing at the barbecue in Goddelau
Five members of the OWK (Odenwald Club) had already set off by car beforehand and reserved seats in the shade of the large tent. The Goddelau Fruit and Horticulture Association provided the perfect setting for the barbecue on its spacious grounds. There, the participants enjoyed grilled food with homemade salads and a selection of homemade cakes.
Return journey with a stopover
After a pleasant few hours, the hikers began their journey home. The shorter route back led past the Seven Siblings Oak and the Weilerhof farm. A brief stop offered the opportunity to observe a large group of turkeys. At the end of the hike, the odometer read 43 kilometers – covered under the guidance of Martin Dammel and Heinz Krohn.
