Mystical hike along the Old Rhine
Hiking guide Dietmar Autz welcomed the twelve hiking enthusiasts from the Groß-Gerau Odenwald Club in Erfelden. From there, they crossed the bridge directly onto the Kühkopf. The nature reserve revealed a special side of itself that day: dense fog lent the landscape a mystical and mysterious atmosphere .
During the themed hike, the small group found attentive listeners for interesting explanations at various stations. Numerous information panels along the way also offered additional insights into the nature and history of the Old Rhine region.
Nature experiences despite the fog
from the observation towers Krönkeswörth , Schwedensäule and Schlappeswörth , the nearby scenery still offered many impressions: swans , a ship only vaguely visible on the Rhine, moss-covered trees , woodpecker holes and even a buzzard , which landed unimpressed by the hiking group at the side of the path.
Along the way, the group had to overcome a few minor obstacles, but these posed no problems whatsoever. The route covered just under 15 kilometers .
hiking coordinator Beate Bolbach thanked Dietmar Autz for the successful hike. The next Wednesday hike in January is already being planned. The group will then explore southern part of the Kühkopf area
