Shop, enjoy and discover in an environmentally conscious way – 33rd Eco-Market at the gateway to Kühkopf
The town of Riedstadt, associated with Büchner, invites everyone to its traditional eco-market on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Richthofenplatz in Erfelden. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the area near the Martin-Roth-Bridge will be transformed for the 33rd time into a vibrant meeting place for sustainable consumption, regional products, and environmental education – ideally combined with a trip to the neighboring Kühkopf nature reserve.
Numerous stalls offer a wide selection of environmentally friendly products such as handmade soaps, cooking oils, honey, baskets, wooden kitchen utensils, garden perennials, and herbs. The offerings are complemented by information booths on environmental and climate protection, energy conservation, and regional sustainability initiatives.
Bread, dishes, and regional beer and wine are available to satisfy your appetite. A comfortable area with tables and benches under shady plane trees invites you to linger.
Music, interactive activities and sustainability to experience
The musical program starts at 11 a.m. with "Trish & Mo(re)," who will present visitors with songs from the singer-songwriter era as well as classics from the 1970s and 1980s. From 2:30 p.m. onwards, comedian Micha Messermann will entertain young and old with his show. The youth center's "Time Out" bus will bring games and sports activities for children and teenagers starting around 11 a.m.
This year, an environmentally friendly composting toilet is being added to the existing range of services. Although the originally planned accessible version could not be implemented at short notice, the composting toilet offers a sustainable alternative to conventional chemical toilets: it is chemical-free, odorless, and saves valuable drinking water. Information on the use of such toilet systems is available on site. Implementation is being carried out in cooperation with the supplier Kompotoi and EAD Darmstadt.
