The city and AWO secure the future of the social center
The city of Weiterstadt has announced that a new lease agreement for the Ohlystift social center was signed last week. The contracting parties are the city of Weiterstadt and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO) Hessen-Süd (Workers' Welfare Association of Southern Hesse).
The contract has a term of six years and is intended to create planning security for both residents and staff.
Investments in buildings and equipment
The agreement includes various measures to be implemented by 2028. These include, among other things, the renewal of the fire alarm system, the renovation of windows and bathrooms, and improvements in accessibility.
Work is also planned for the general maintenance and upgrading of the facility.
Agreement reached after negotiations
Mayor Niklas Gehnich emphasizes that a viable solution has been found in the interest of all parties involved. After a period of uncertainty, it has been possible to secure a long-term perspective for the facility.
The AWO (Workers' Welfare Association) also views the agreement positively. The negotiations were constructive and in the best interests of the residents.
Future of the Ohlystift secured
The signing of the contract marks an important step for the long-term operation and further development of the Ohlystift social center in Weiterstadt.
