Citizen information on urban green spaces, recreation and climate protection
The City of Darmstadt will be holding an online information event on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, starting at 4 p.m., to present its urban open space concept. The event will take place digitally via Webex and is open to all interested citizens.
“The open space concept is a framework plan for the entire urban area. It serves to protect and strategically develop existing open spaces and urban greenery,” explains Michael Kolmer, . “Open spaces make a crucial contribution to recreation, health, climate protection, and biodiversity – they are essential for a livable environment. That’s why we want to engage in dialogue with the people of Darmstadt.”
Assessment of open space provision completed
The analysis of the current situation is complete and forms the basis for concrete planning:
- Where is there a good supply of open space – and where is there not?
- Where are there a lack of amenities such as playgrounds or green spaces?
- What measures can be taken to secure or create new freedoms?
The event will present the strategies and results of the open space concept and provide space for questions and exchange.
