Artists invite you to an event on September 27th and 28th
On Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2025 , numerous artists' studios in Darmstadt will open their doors. Visitors can experience contemporary art in all its facets – from painting, graphic art, and sculpture to photography and video, as well as jewelry, textile art, and performance art. The "Open Studio Days" are organized by the South Hesse Cultural Summer and the Darmstadt Cultural Office .
Insights into the Darmstadt art scene
The participating studios showcase current works, invite visitors to discussions, and offer the opportunity to experience the creative process firsthand. Some studios also host special events such as auctions, hands-on activities, or accompanying exhibitions.
Selected studios and program items
- Atelier Adelung33 & Guests (Sat 5–10 pm, Sun 11 am–3 pm): Painting, graphics, object art, performance, etc.; auction for charitable purposes on Saturday (8:30 pm).
- Atelier Farbregen – Kaja Martin & Guests (Sat 2–6 pm): Paintings, watercolors, sketchbooks, interactive activity “sketches”.
- Atelier UIL/Galerie XI – Ute Irmischer-Lehn & Guests (Sat 10–17, Sun 14–17): Painting, sculptures, photography, mixed media; Saturday at Atelier Traubenweg 176, Sunday at art shop windows in Rheinstraße.
- Atelierhaus Darmstadt (Sat & Sun 12–5 pm): Several studios with painting, drawing, object art, video art and new media; exhibition “Autumn Salon 2025”.
- Photo Studio Mai – Jürgen Mai (Sat & Sun 11am–7pm): Light Paintings, Pigment Prints, 3D Slide Show.
- Karl Peter Becker (Sat 2–6 pm, Sun 10 am–6 pm): Sculptures, Light Paintings, Pigment Prints.
- Bartel Ceramics Studio (Sat 11am–4pm): Handmade stoneware ceramics, pottery courses, firing service.
- Kunstfabrik e. V. (Sat & Sun 3–6 pm): Exhibition “and then…” with painting, photography, performance, sound and text.
- Jewelry workshop – Eva Friedel & Olaf Kirch (Sat & Sun 11am–4pm): Jewelry design and sculptures in wood.
- Sehriban Köksal Kurt (Sun 12–6 pm): Sculptures, installations, exhibition with artist talks and café in the garden.
- Textile workshop – Margot Lorenz & guests (Sat & Sun 11am–4pm): Unique clothing, repair and upcycling techniques.
