Changes on two public holidays – regular operations between Christmas and New Year's.
As the city of Darmstadt announces, the municipal enterprise for tasks and services (EAD) and the Vivarium Zoo will have different opening hours during the Christmas holidays 2025 and around the turn of the year.
Closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
The recycling center at Sensfelderweg 33, the composting plant at Eckhardwiesenstraße 25 in Kranichstein and the Vivarium Zoo at Schnampelweg 5 will remain closed on Wednesday, December 24th, and Wednesday, December 31st.
Regular operations between the holidays
From Saturday, December 27th, to Tuesday, December 30th, regular opening hours apply. These can be found on the respective websites of the EAD and the Zoo Vivarium :

From Friday, January 2, 2026, all facilities will reopen as usual.
